printing the posters

We were totally excited to print out our posters. Sven who was operating the printer showed us some love by being patient with us and printing one poster out for his office. Thank you, Sven!

the shooting … in motion

Here are some more impressions of the shooting.

Music by Royksopp – Happy Up Here!

the shooting

We turned everything into white. Lighting was adjusted by Jo. Camera was brought into position 5m high by Il-Ho. Chris and Steffie were coordinating the setting and our lovely Ruth was once again our model and ready to rock. We had no time to loose, because we were just able to shoot between 10 pm and 5 am, when the sun couldn’t bother our lighting. So everybody was very focused and in three nights the shooting was done.

organizing … with a little help from our friends

With the idea in mind we jumped into Chris’s car and gathered all the stuff we needed for the production. Many many thanks to our friends who helped us out: Robert for giving us full access to his storage which was high enough to do a top-down shooting / Sammy and 3Deluxe who offered us their old computers, monitors, scanners, etc. / Mr. Friedl and the ZIK who helped us to find even more technics garbage / Jo and Pille who supplied us with fabulous lighting and tripods. Without you guys we would probably still stare on the brainstorm-map!

location

the idea

After we were totally lost in our experimental series we forced ourselves to go back and restart from scratch. So we put everything aside and stared at the brainstorming-map again. There was one picture that drew our attention ever since. It’s the one which couldn’t relate to the other pictures but still made it on the map because of its visual power.

We were pretty amazed by this mental strength shown on this picture and we tried to translate this mental strength into a skill of the author of design. We were thinking how would it look like when the achievement of the author of design wouldn’t have been done physically, but mentally. That was the point where our brains started to rotate. We got a kick out of this idea and in no time pictures were generated! Fantastic/superhero/futuristic kind of pictures!

Here are our ideas scribbled down … awkwardly.

workshop with pixelgarten

While we were still searching for the right idea Catrin and Adrian of Pixelgarten came along and held a workshop in our seminar. We had a great time hanging around with them and we can’t wait to see them again on the 20. & 21.11. in Mainz.

Photos taken by Adrian.
